Description Eastern Illinois University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Health, Safety and Performance. This position is responsible for assisting the Director in providing Athletic Training services to all student-athletes, within the guidelines, rules and regulations of Eastern Illinois University, the Ohio Valley Conference and the NCAA. This position requires certification through the NATA and licensure with the State of Illinois. This position will have primary responsibilities with football and men's and women's golf.
The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the Assistant Athletic Director for Health, Safety and Performance in the following:- Support the Mission and Core Values of the Department
- Maintain Student-Athlete records; comply with confidentiality and privacy guidelines of FERPA and HIPAA
- Maintains and organizes the Athletic Training Rooms and participates in their planning and development
- Responsible for full compliance with University, Department and NCAA regulations
- Maintains medical, insurance and rehabilitation records according to established policies
- Carries out effective and proven methods of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation
- Effectively communicates with all parties relative to injuries and illness
- Works in conjunction with the EIU Insurance Office in supplying accurate information to coordinate claims and payment
- Assist in the implementation of the Substance Abuse Program
- Collaborate on development of a responsible budget for their Unit
- Responsible for the efficient use of all Department resources
- Collaborate with Athletic and University support units to ensure Student-Athlete health, safety and well-being
- Committed to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Salary and BenefitsRange: $3,750 - $3,833.25/month

Qualifications Master's degree required in Athletic Training or related field. NATA certified and Illinois License (or eligible) required. Experience in college athletics preferred. Experience working effectively and cooperatively with student-athletes, coaches and staff. Strong interpersonal skills are preferred.
