Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the health and wellness of student-athletes by assisting with the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Working under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, this person will help coordinate day-to-day athletic training operations and ensure compliance with applicable policies and best practices in sports medicine.

Job Requirements & Essential Functions of the Job:

• Assist in providing athletic training services for intercollegiate sports programs, including practice, competition, and rehabilitation coverage.
• Evaluate and treat injuries, design rehabilitation programs, and monitor progress in collaboration with team physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including injury reports, treatment logs, and rehabilitation plans.
• Support the development and implementation of injury prevention programs and education for student-athletes.
• Assist in managing inventory and maintenance of athletic training supplies and equipment.
• Travel with teams to away competitions as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with advances in athletic training and sports medicine.
• Help ensure compliance with NCAA or other governing bodies' policies as applicable

Required Qualifications:

• Masters' degree
• Ability to travel
• Ability to work nights and weekends
