Join the Leidos Maritime Systems Division (MSD) as an innovative Lead Electrical Systems Engineer. In this role, you'll be an essential part of a dynamic team dedicated to developing cutting-edge ocean sensor systems for advanced manned and unmanned maritime platforms. Leidos MSD focuses on delivering top-tier technology solutions that meet the evolving needs of crucial maritime missions for various clients, including the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, governmental agencies, and commercial partners.

This position offers a chance to lead or assist in the design, demonstration, production, and integration of high-performance electronics systems. You'll work on an exciting variety of projects related to electronics hardware for data acquisition, embedded microprocessor systems, analog design, DC power systems, and Xilinx FPGAs. Occasional travel may be required for collaboration with engineering teams at different Leidos sites and government facilities across the United States and potentially in the United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic circuit cards and systems, including schematic, firmware, digital, and analog components.
  • Oversee the creation of prototypes and production printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Conduct research and development in laboratory settings, fieldwork, or at sea.
  • Integrate subsystems and provide hands-on support for deployed systems.
  • Assist in establishing project requirements and conducting verification/validation activities.
  • Create and assess detailed test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to both internal and external leadership, addressing impacts on programs.
  • Provide guidance on technical approaches to engineering challenges.
  • Mentor and support junior team members to enhance team capabilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree in electrical or computer engineering from an accredited institution (Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience).
  • Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, including operational amplifier circuits, ADC/DAC converters, and microprocessors.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret-level security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience using Altium and conducting PCB layout.
  • Expertise in analog design.
  • Familiarity with modern Xilinx FPGA families and associated design tools (Ultrascale+, Vivado, Xilinx IP cores, Verilog/VHDL).
  • Experience in RF design.
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux systems.

Pay Range: Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
