Description

Leidos is looking for a talented Senior Electronics Engineer to join our National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team. In this exciting role, you will support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) in implementing critical power systems for air traffic control facilities.

This role will involve travel up to 25% of the time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys to analyze equipment load distribution and recommend circuit adjustments to enhance system availability.
  • Collaborate with electrical design engineers by providing data and recommendations to resolve issues.
  • Assist the design team in forming phasing plans for project implementation to minimize facility impact.
  • Communicate phasing plans effectively with local TechOps and Air Traffic personnel to address concerns.
  • Take part in on-site meetings before and during construction to ensure effective execution of plans.
  • Contribute to post-completion reviews to assess project success.
  • Utilize advanced software tools to aid in design and analysis tasks.
  • Create detailed sketches illustrating the relationship of proposed work with existing or new facilities, including specifications and dimensions.
  • Organize, plan, and schedule construction project activities to meet critical deadlines while working closely with stakeholders and contractors.
  • Engage with multi-disciplinary engineering staff and other team members to identify and resolve design or implementation challenges.
  • Review contractor design and construction submissions to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Manage project-related communications, including safety plans, work sequences, and risk management strategies.
  • Attend on-site coordination meetings and participate in inspections, testing, and restoration of facilities.
  • Keep team members, management, and stakeholders updated on project progress.
  • Provide timely responses to inquiries and project submissions.
  • Deliver monthly and semi-annual work status reports to track project milestones.
  • Oversee and ensure closure of project punch-list items.
  • Juggle multiple projects to ensure successful completion on time.
  • Conduct internal design reviews of various projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution and 8+ years of experience in relevant design engineering, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes to perform load calculations, wiring sizing, arc flash calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Ability to manage various projects and tasks effectively, ensuring timely completemion.
  • Skilled in providing technical support and advice on punch list item resolutions.
  • Efficient in data gathering and analysis processes.
  • Capable of developing project plans and establishing schedules and estimates.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; able to coordinate with diverse stakeholders at various management levels.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office products and engineering scheduling tools.
  • Willingness to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance.

Pay Range: $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
