Job Description
As a Senior Principal Cloud Software Engineer at Oracle, you will play a pivotal role in the development of innovative cloud services that empower streaming providers to transition their workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Your responsibilities will encompass the design and implementation of core technical components, including but not limited to video playback, content augmentation, video transcoding and packaging, content delivery, streaming analytics, and cost analytics. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in advanced technical areas to stay ahead in the industry.
- Design cloud service architecture with a focus on micro-service design, scalability, observability, and availability.
- Implement services and their corresponding micro-services, driving technical excellence.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to operate and deliver cloud services effectively.
- Remain informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices to spur innovation and ensure compliance.
- Launch new cloud services while establishing operational excellence.
- Lead the implementation to achieve the technical vision of the team.
- Engage proactively with geographically distributed teams.
- Mentor and develop top engineering talent within the organization.
- Establish software development standards and processes to promote best practices across the organization.
- Define objectives and key results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for informed decision making and prioritization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 8+ years of software development experience.
- Proven experience in large-scale software development, specifically with cloud services and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in playback, content augmentation, video transcoding and packaging, content delivery, streaming analytics, and cost analytics.
- Experience as a lead developer in the design, implementation, and operation of cloud services.
- Strong collaborative skills, with experience working with geo-distributed teams.
- In-depth knowledge of software implementation, code and design reviews, and failure root cause analysis.
- Expertise in designing for availability, observability, scalability, and recoverability.

Oracle maintains a competitive salary range to accommodate various factors including skills and experience; the range for this role is $96,800 to $251,600 per annum, including potential eligibility for bonuses and equity.
