Join Leidos' Defense Systems' Uncrewed Systems Integration and Test Team as a Signal Processing and RF Communications Test Engineer. Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in analyzing communications technologies relevant to the DoD uncrewed systems community.
- Engage in experimentation involving new communications technologies in both lab and outdoor settings.
- Help analyze data from testing activities.
- Contribute to the reporting and presentation of test data.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with 4-8 years of experience in RF signal processing and communications, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience in similar fields.
- In-depth understanding of RF concepts such as testing, propagation, schematics, and link budgets, particularly in over-the-air signal detection.
- Proficiency in communication waveform modulation, including Phase-Shift Keying (PSK) and Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM).
- Knowledge of Forward Error Correction (FEC) methods, such as Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC), turbo codes, and Reed-Solomon (RS) coding.
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum/signal analyzers, function generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Experience in radio testing across lab and field environments.
- Capability to process and interpret complex datasets, with skills in object-oriented MATLAB programming or similar analysis tools.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to maintain an active Secret clearance and obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
- Willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL, if not currently a resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A solid foundation in waveform modulation theory, especially PSK and QAM.
- Familiarity with signal modeling, filter and noise modeling, Fourier transforms, and general signal processing techniques.
- Practical experience with Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) and Line of Sight (LOS) communication systems.

Pay Range:
$85,150.00 - $153,925.00
