We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in sales and business development and an understanding of workers compensation, who can foster agency relationships and drive submission activity within an assigned territory. This hybrid Management and Outside Sales position will be part of our growing sales team, helping to spread awareness of Insurate and encourage submission flow through a strategic agency outreach strategy. This position will also lead and manage a Business Development Specialist(inside sales role) as a direct report.

Reporting to our Head of Sales & Distribution, the Sr. Territory Sales Manager will track and document agency communications and work closely with other members of the sales team to identify prospective agencies and opportunities for submissions. They will have a strong understanding of Insurate's Safe Tier Index and carrier risk appetites. This person will be integral in Insurate reaching and exceeding our goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Appoint agency partners within an assigned territory
  • Drive submission activity through agency outreach within an assigned territory, and the identification of accounts that fit Insurate's risk appetite, both from an exposure and quality standpoint.
  • Gain insight into each agency's risk profile and structure
  • Develop and foster relationships with key stakeholders within each agency
  • Document and track the communication with each agency in our CRM platform
  • Collaborate with and lead sales team members as needed on all sales goals and sales related activities
  • This role requires up to 25% overnight travel

Minimum Job Requirements

· 5+ years in an outside sales position within the Insurance industry

· Competitive and motivated "hunter" mentality

· Entrepreneurial, self-starter, and self-motivated

· Desire to coach, mentor and lead by example

· Passion to win new business and accelerate growth

· Technology savvy - can learn new systems quickly

· Exceptional verbal, written interpersonal communication and organizational skills

· Proven track record of achieving goals, quotas, or other similar objectives

· Thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced inside sales environment

· Collaborative and supportive with other team members

· Resident P&C Agent License, or the ability to obtain within 90 days
